The rarest tracked boss kill in BLACK SOULS II. His achievement — "Relish in my hundred and fifty plays" — reads like a curtain call, and reaching him is one.

Where and when

Prince of Fear is a DLC3 chain-invasion boss in Windless Valley. The reviewed chart records a 1.9-million-HP fight with evasion, fixed damage, oil/fire pressure, poison, multi-hit strings and a half-health recovery phase.

Location

DLC3 Windless Valley, as part of the Prince's invasion chain; a separate White Town variant also exists.

Prerequisites

  • Unlock DLC3 and advance the invasion chain into Windless Valley.
  • Create a branch save before the chain if you need to compare the Windless Valley and White Town states.

Attack cues and responses

Cue / pattern
The Prince raises evasion and acts twice per round.
Use accuracy-independent or high-accuracy damage and plan healing around two actions, not one.
The knife attack deals 100,000 fixed damage.
Ordinary defense does not solve fixed damage; use survival thresholds, immunity if available, or revival.
Oil is applied before fire pressure.
Cleanse the setup state or defend the fire follow-up rather than waiting for the combo to land.
At roughly half HP he heals and brings additional enemies into the fight.
Bank burst damage and multi-target control for the phase transition; do not spend every resource in phase one.
A nine-hit sequence and poison add attrition to the later phase.
Use multi-hit mitigation and poison recovery; a single large-heal plan is vulnerable between turns.

Loadout

  • High accuracy or unavoidable damage
  • Fixed-damage survival or revival
  • Oil/fire and poison recovery
  • Multi-target control for the half-HP adds

Rewards

  • 302,000 souls
  • Tainted Black Soul
  • Rold's Pen
  • Relish in my hundred and fifty plays achievement

Route risks

  • This is a DLC3 chain event rather than an isolated overworld boss.
  • The White Town variant should be documented separately instead of treating screenshots from both states as one encounter.

First-hand verification backlog

Capture these in one documented Steam-version run before this page becomes indexable:

  • Each invasion-chain step
  • Evasion buff and two-action turn
  • 100,000 fixed-damage knife
  • Half-HP heal and adds
  • Windless Valley and White Town variants
  • All rewards

Context and planning notes

At 16.5%, this is the least-completed boss achievement in the game. Assume everything about the encounter is endgame-tier.

His theatrical framing ties into the game's recurring stage motif (the Catastrophe ending is 'Torn Apart'; the Alice ending is 'a round of applause'). Reaching him means you are deep in the story's true material.

Bank your souls, finish your Fairy Tale collection first, and expect to die learning the fight.
