Trashlord Kraken
BLACK SOULS · Early game

The legendary sea-terror, reduced to lord of the refuse. Defeated by 46.6% of players at the tail of the opening run.
Where and when
Trashlord Kraken is fought on Sea of Trash map 3. At lower HP it calls two additional enemies; killing it before those adds appear can forfeit a 50,000-soul event reward, and Kraken's Tentacle is required for Jeanne's revival.
Location
Sea of Trash, map 3.
Prerequisites
- Reach map 3 of the Sea of Trash.
- Keep an inventory slot and route plan for Kraken's Tentacle if recruiting Jeanne.
Attack cues and responses
Loadout
- Area damage or control for the two adds
- Controlled damage rather than unchecked burst when preserving the event reward
- Enough sustain for the longer, add-inclusive version
Rewards
- 50,000 souls from the documented add-inclusive outcome
- Kraken's Tentacle
- Black Soul
- Trashlord Kraken achievement
Route risks
- Instantly killing Kraken before the adds appear can lose the 50,000-soul event reward.
- Consuming or losing Kraken's Tentacle blocks Jeanne's revival until another cycle or source.
First-hand verification backlog
Capture these in one documented Steam-version run before this page becomes indexable:
- Sea of Trash map 3 entrance
- HP threshold and both summoned enemies
- Overkill versus add-inclusive reward comparison
- Tentacle and Black Soul inventory
Context and planning notes
Expect a multi-limbed area fight — kraken encounters in any RPG are about managing more targets than you have turns. Prioritize whatever piece threatens your healer's economy.
The 'Trashlord' title is the point: the Lost Empire doesn't just twist its legends, it humiliates them. The game's sense of decay is at its most literal here.
At 46.6% this is still mandatory-tier content — if it stops you cold, you're underleveled for the band, not sequence-broken.
