Route overview
Catherine's route is a rescue-and-reunion chain. Jeanne must already be recruited before Catherine can join; the Saint Catherine fight is the separate failure branch caused by delaying recruitment.
Before you start
- Advance the Prayer Master's shop to stage 3 so Catherine first appears in Holy Forest with two guards.
- At shop stage 4 or later, find and rescue her in Skeleton Maze B1F by defeating both transformed guards.
- Recruit Jeanne and defeat Devourer Patrasche before the cathedral reunion.
What closes the route
- Catherine cannot be recruited without Jeanne already in the party.
- If Patrasche is alive, finish that encounter before expecting Catherine in the cathedral.
- After one cathedral conversation, resolving all four princesses before recruitment triggers Saint Catherine.
- A recruited Catherine dies on the descent to the lower level if Karma reaches 10 or more.

Why this character matters
Catherine has the widest gap between her personal-ending completion and her optional boss completion. The numbers show that her ending and the Saint Catherine fight are related content, but not the same requirement.
Her legend also returns as a BLACK SOULS II Folk Tale, giving completionists a gentler sequel counterpart to the first game's demanding branch.
