Complete Vernai's questline to receive it ("Rabbit's Dream", 17.2%). Questlines in BLACK SOULS II can fail permanently if their characters die or story states advance past them, so follow Vernai's thread across the whole playthrough.
Exact pickup route
Moonlight Greatsword is Vernai's full-cycle quest reward. Every meeting and all three boss summons must be completed before the associated boss dies; a single missed summon hard-locks the reward for that cycle.
Location
Final pickup in Rabbit Hole after Vernai's note sends the player back there; the route begins in Rabbit Hole before progression 1.
Prerequisites
- Speak to Vernai in Rabbit Hole before progression 1.
- Follow him through Billingsgate and Carroll River.
- Keep an Herb Flask for the immediate post-river-boss return.
- Summon Vernai for Jabberwock, Jubjub and Bandersnatch before defeating each boss.

What it does
- Awards the Moonlight Greatsword as the route's weapon reward.
- Completes Vernai's Rabbit's Dream achievement/tale line.
Failure conditions
- Missing the pre-progression Rabbit Hole or Billingsgate meeting closes the chain.
- Failing to return immediately with an Herb Flask after the Carroll River boss lets Vernai die.
- Defeating any of Jabberwock, Jubjub or Bandersnatch without Vernai summoned permanently misses that flag for the cycle.
